Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. St. Clair County Criminal History does not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared beyond the site's operators unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may automatically record basic technical and usage details:

- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Pages viewed and approximate visit length

No Criminal-Record Data on File
St. Clair County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Sheriff Service Bureau, county courts, Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, and Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a file about another person, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to St. Clair County offices, Michigan courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. Those systems are controlled by the provider.

Personal information is not sold. Limited data may be available to:
